Faolan Consulting’s Director, Michelle Beeslaar, will speak at the Women’s ImPACT Innovation & Sustainability in Africa (WIISA) 2024 event on August 27th. Michelle will discuss her contribution to the newly launched book Women and Finance in Africa, focusing on the socioeconomic fallout from the mismanagement of COVID-19 funds in South Africa.

Michelle Beeslaar has been appointed by the Project Management Institute – South Africa Chapter (PMI South Africa) to serve as their 2024/2025 Junior Achievement Programme Coordinator. Junior Achievement (JA) is globally the largest youth representing non-profit organisation operating in over 100 countries.

The South African chapter was established in 1979 and has provided training interventions to over 600,000 youth to date. The organisation works with scholars including those of age but not attending school to develop and enhance skills that equip youth to be job-ready or prepared for entrepreneurial initiatives. Michelle as a JA high school alumni is honoured by the opportunity to represent the PMI South Africa and furthermore dedicated to deliver above benchmarked standards the PMI South Africa and JA programme deliverables, in addition to maximising and enhancing the partnership outcomes.

Our Director, Michelle Beeslaar, will be joining the Project Management Institute South Africa Chapter (PMI-SA) African Leadership Academy student mentor team. Between September 2024 and March 2025, Michelle will volunteer her time to mentor, train, guide and advise a group of second year Entrepreneurial students as they translate the knowledge from their Project Management for Life Skills course and apply it to a practical project module whose aim is to successfully establish a model startup, demonstrating a clear understanding of and ability to use the applicable level of project management.

As part of sharing tools and techniques to equip her students with workplace skills, video and other format resources will be custom created.  Once utilised by the respective students, the content spanning project management topics including the latest developments will be shared on Faolan’s website and social media platforms to provide access to both professional and civic education to a wider audience of youth beyond South Africa at no cost.
